Why aluminium
Aluminium alloy, not plastic. It holds a 16-inch laptop without flex or wobble at full height, and it does not creak. Silicone pads on every contact point so nothing scratches and nothing slides.
Seven heights, not three
Most folding stands give you three positions and you settle for the least bad one. This gives you seven, so you can set it to your chair and your desk rather than the other way round.
